Cooks Valley Cemetery Meeting

Chairman Darrel Fehr called the annual cemetery meeting to order on June 8, 2015 at 8:00 pm.  Cemetery committee present:  Darrel Fehr and Matt Borofka.  Delegation present: Victoria Trinko, Judy and Harry Prince.   

Darrel Fehr made a motion to accept and place on file the minutes of the October 20, 2014 Cooks Valley Cemetery meeting.  Matt Borofka seconded the motion.  The motion passed 2-0. 

Discussion and action on maintenance and funding for the upkeep of the Cooks Valley Cemetery:  Harry Prince continues to refill the sink hole that keeps occurring in the cemetery.  There has been a request to remove some trees from around a gravestone.  Harry Prince is waiting for an opportune time to complete the tree removal.  Maintenance has been kept to a minimum until more interest has accumulated in the cemetery fund.  Treasurer Judith Prince will investigate moving the fund into a money market fund for a better interest rate. There is $2248.77 in the cemetery fund.  The gravestones and fence are in good condition.  The Town of Cooks Valley thanks Harry Prince for his donation of military emblems/flags to honor the veterans interred in the cemetery, supplying the dirt and filling the sinkhole free of charge, and his diligence in maintaining the cemetery in fine condition. 

Darrel Fehr made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 pm. Matt Borofka seconded the motion.  The motion carried 2-0.
